Troy DeCaire has plenty has plenty of racing expierence. In fact he has nearly 16 years in the drivers seat and is poised for a career in sprint car racing. The Tampa, FL resident made is debut at just 4 yrs. old behind the wheel of a go-kart. Sports has been a huge part of Troy's life, playing football, baseball and running cross country in high school. However the one sport they do not offer in hihg school has left a lasting impression on the youngsters mind. Troy has one thing on his mind; going fast and turning left.
Troy has already brought home twenty championships in fifteens years of racing. He has nineteen championships in karts and one championship in QMA quarter midgets. At the age of 17 he made the move to open wheel asphalt sprint cars, a move he was excited to make.
2004 In 2004 he became the second youngest driver to win a Tampa Bay Area Racing Association (TBARA) feature at Columbia Motorsports Park in Ellisville, FL. He also became Rookie of the Year with TBARA.
2005 In 2005 Troy finished fourth in points with TBARA and captured his second win of his career with TBARA. Troy was able to stay in the top five in points all season long.
2006 The 2006 season will seeTroy try once again to win the championship with TBARA, along with some racing with USAC and USCS sprint cars. The twenty year old knows he has a shot a winning his first sprint car championship and so do his competitors.
2007 Troy capped off the 2007 season by winning the TBARA point championship. He also took home 5 feature wins with TBARA in 2007. He will be defending is championship year 2008 going after crown #2 .
2008 In 2008 Troy won his second TBARA Championship in a row. He has 6 feature event wins with TBARA and 4 feature event wins with the Central Florida Wingless Sprint Car Association. He once again raced at Anderson Speedway in the state of Indiana in the Little 500, a 500 lap race on a 1/4 mile track. He qualified 10th fastest but was caught up in an inncedent on the track and was not able to continue. He also capture a very special win at DeSoto Super Speedway in Bradenton, Fl. the 50 lap Dick Friedley Memeorial race on 4/05/08 and the Frank Riddle Memorial race also at DeSoto Super Speedway on 9/27/08. All in all it was another great year for Troy. He would also not have been able to do this with out the support of his car owner George Rudolph Jr.
2009 In 2009Troy will continue to race sprint cars TBARA, HOSS, CFWSCA, AVSS and USAC. Troy finished 2nd in TBARA point standings and was co champion in the Central Florida Wingless Sprint Car Assocation point satndings.
2010 In 2010 Troy will racing about the same schedule as he did in 2009 although he will driving more in the midwest than he did last season. He will be driving the Mike Blake owned #81 in the mid west. Troy was also voted the most popular sprint car driver in the state of Florida in a poll conducted by the USA sprint car web site.
2011 Troy became a two time champion in the Must See Extreme Sprint car series driving for four different teams. Troy also finished 5th in points with TBARA sprint car series.
